Actor/Comedian Launches New TV Show by Himself, Making Critics Laugh and Take Notice

Washington, DC -- December 30, 2006 -- Laugh at this!  At only 24 years old, comedian/actor Tommy Taylor has made his fans both laugh at his hilarious comedy, and admire his tenacity for success.  This young black comedian has already accomplished a lifetime of feats!  He has finished his Masters Degree in Business Administration (from a dual program at Howard and Georgetown Universities), holds multiple engineering degrees from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University, and currently produces and develops his own television show.  This dangerous combination of humor and intelligence has captivated audiences across the East Coast; and while some may think Tommy is a “know-it-all” what we “all know” is that this guy is FUNNY! 

So is Tommy Taylor the future of comedy?  Only time will tell; however, we do know his future is very BRIGHT.  Tommy began performing stand-up in DC comedy clubs in 2002 and almost instantaneously realized he was a special talent.  He capitalized on his stage success with the creation of his comedy show.  Utilizing local cable networks and the public access mediums to push his content, he single handedly developed a wildly popular underground comedy show called, “The Tommy Taylor Show”.  In this half hour sketch comedy, Tommy displays his immense talents as he writes, edits, directs, produces, markets, and sometimes even films for his show.   A lot for one man to do!  Consequentially in less than one year, The Tommy Taylor show has gone from airing in 100,000 homes to over 2,000,000 homes in the DC, MD, VA area, and was nominated for a Viewers Choice Award in its first 3 months of airing.  Furthermore, he did this with NO MONEY and a LOT of hard work!  The Tommy Taylor Show is even making headlines in Europe, and has been chosen to be included in an international documentary on “African Americans in Television” which is to include features on notable networks such as BET and TV One. 

Realizing the need to further his content distribution, Tommy made a wise decision, developing an online video player and also making clips of his show available to the viral online community. Within a week, he was featured on Yahoo! Videos reaching the day’s top hit count.  He has been featured on Brightcove.com, and also pulled in several hundred thousand views of his material online, capping his success with his popular Music Video Remix Parodies. 

Tommy Taylor has already performed at venues such as the Improv, has reoccurring roles in shows such as HBO’s The Wire, acquired parts in movies such as Die Hard 4, and was a runner-up in Comedy Central/Sierra Mist “Search for the Next Great Comic” comedy competition, all while managing his own acting/comedy career (no agent), finishing an MBA, and producing his comedy television show.  Currently, Tommy is controlling his destiny by capturing an audience in television, online, and has been offered his very own radio show.  A true triple threat!  To manage all of this, Tommy has developed a production company to encapsulate all his endeavors To My Entertainment Productions, LLC.  Oh and did we mention he is only 24!

But by far the MOST IMPRESSIVE stat about this young man is that he makes it an emphasis to keep God first!  Tommy does not curse, and he continues to hold fast to his pledge to abstain from sex until marriage.  Tommy expressed that his sole motivation in the entertainment world is to “present a positive image for today’s black youth.”  Tommy has also laid the groundwork for a non-profit philanthropic organization to develop entertaining programs to teach High School and College students the power of entrepreneurship.  He began this endeavor by speaking to 1,500 incoming Freshman students at Howard University.
